Rainy Day in Paradise (Opua, Bay of Islands, New Zealand)

December 22, 2012

It’s raining today and that gives us a nice time to do a little blog catch-up.

Actually, we’ve got the remnants of cyclone Evan passing over Opua today.  We may see winds up to 40 knots but it shouldn’t matter much to us as we’re tied up safely in Opua Marina.

We timed our passage from Tonga to NZ well – after the bad winter New Zealand weather mostly ended and two weeks before the first real cyclone hit the tropical western Pacific. -Rich
