Ponui Island Donkeys

February 10, 2014 on Ponui Island, Hauraki Gulf, New Zealand

We had a treat this morning – we got to see Ponui Island Donkeys! These white donkeys are a rare breed that descended from three donkeys left on Ponui Island in 1880’s. There noses are so soft and velvety!
