We ran from Ono Island yesterday; ran from the winds and waves to a rumored-to-be-calm anchorage on the west side of the island.

Nope – not calm.

We ended up in Kavala Bay on the north side of Kadavu. Wow, this is nice. We hear a little wind but the boat is still on the calm water. This was the scene this morning.

This was the gift the sea gave us on the passage from Suva to Dravuni (near Kadavu) yesterday. (The fish is the one on the right!) What a wonderful dinner. Thank you sea! -Rich

We’ve had a couple of belts break lately, one after only about two weeks on the engine. I think this is because our spares stock is getting a little old and the rubber just isn’t holding up. Compounding this was the fact that the Yanmar water pump belts I bought in New Zealand looked about a hundred years old when I bought them. How old are your spares? -Rich
