Here’s Episode 7 in our weather planning video series. All the videos can be found here.

I No Speak French So Good

July 16, 2022

While we’re in New Caledonia, we’re trying to learn a little French. I’m not doing so well with that. To check my pronunciations, I use Google Translate. Here are the results with what I thought I was saying followed by the translations…

I am sorry

I am sorry, I do not speak French

And when Cyndi tries…

I am sorry

I do not speak French

Sometimes she’s infuriating!!!

I guess it’s no wonder that people look at me funny when I try to speak to them in French.

This was the next stop on our little places-we-haven’t-been-in-the-lagoon tour: Ilot Mbe Kouen.

We’re still waiting for weather to get to Oz. There still isn’t a window we like in sight. That’s okay. We love New Caledonia!

Here’s a map of this trip:

False Pass

July 6, 2022

We spent the day anchored at an incredible spot called False Pass just inside New Caledonia’s barrier reef.  This is among the most beautiful spots we’ve seen here in New Cal. Here’s a very short video.

And here are some stills (click to enlarge and scroll through the images)…

And here’s an interactive map showing the places we went on this little cruise

I don’t know why people think swimming is such good exercise?

OK, maybe this is more “basking” rather than swimming! Whatever it is, it sure feels great. The water’s 78F (25C). Warm enough to bask yet very refreshing.

And now for the serious beauty…

Here’s a map of our July cruise.
