Like America has Coca-Cola, New Zealand has it’s own signature soft drink: L&P. The slogan says it’s “Good Lemonish Stuff” that’s “World Famous in New Zealand.”
The drink originated in a town called Paeroa in North New Zealand, famous for its carbonated mineral water. Some clever people decided to combine this mineral water with lemon juice and some sugar to make a delicious fizzy lemon soft drink. It’s less sweet than similar mainstream soft drinks (Sprite, etc.) and thus more refreshing. It became a favorite drink of ours in New Zealand.
Speaking of Coca Cola, they now manufacture L&P. I see you can order in online in America, but I’m not sure any stores carry it. If you come across it, I would urge you to try it; it’s delicious. –Cyndi
