We arrived in New Caledonia after a passage from Suva, Fiji that was three hours short of five days. That’s 677 nautical miles in 117 hours for an average speed of 5.8 knots. That’s fast for us. But we’re not quite officially in New Caledonia. We have another 30 miles to go to get to Noumea, the capitol city. We didn’t think we could make it in daylight, or at least during business hours, so here we sit in Prony Bay with our quarantine flag flying, sipping wine and relaxing on a boat that for the first time in five days, isn’t rolling violently. We hope to get cleared in tomorrow. -Rich
