23 November 2013 at Sea.
We’re having a very nice passage so far. The winds are very light (as expected) and we’re motoring. We’re about 200 miles south of Fiji and headed to Opua, New Zealand. We’re going about 5 knots and getting about 10 miles to the gallon of diesel fuel – very good for a boat. We don’t have quite enough fuel to motor the entire 1050 miles but we should get some wind to sail during the week it will take us to get to NZ. So far, we couldn’t ask for a better passage. Knock. Knock. Knock. (Sound of knuckles on wood.) -Rich
