October 14, 2013 near Savusavu, Fiji
This was at a small reef called Split Rock (or sometimes Point Rock) near the Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort not far from Savusavu, Fiji. I think the fish might be used to handouts. What do you think?
Split Rock location (waypoint): 16 degrees, 48.431 minutes south and 179 degrees, 17.468 minutes east.
We actually went here to try out our new outboard motor(long story to follow someday). We motored the four miles from our slip in Savusavu – a long trip at 4 knots! It was worth it. So much in fact, that we did it two days in a row.
The Short version of our outboard saga: our Torqeedo electric outboard is dead. Our new Suzuki 2.5HP 4-stroke gas outboard is really nice (and will be even nicer once the parts broken in shipping from New Zealand are replaced)! -Rich
