Local Sights: The Back Road to Haruru Falls (Bay of Islands, New Zealand)

December 2012 – March 2013

It’s easy to get to Haruru Falls from the main highway, but there’s a back road that’s neat to see.  It starts in Waitangi, winds through a golf course, then heads inland through pastures to the Falls.  It’s partly unpaved but well-maintained, and it’s well worth getting a little dust on the car to enjoy this scenery. -Cyndi

The back road through the golf course has some beautiful views of the Bay of Islands. That’s Russell across the way.

This is a “From the Car” picture that I think turned out pretty well if you ignore the blurry parts. (This one's for you Bob!)
