Our First Click-n-Learn Customers!

For the past year, we’ve been working on a project to help us top up the cruising kitty just a little bit – a language-learning app called Click-n-Learn. It was released on the Google Play Store about a week ago and during that time, we’ve been preoccupied with tweaks and refinements. Today, we got our first real users.

We met these lovely people on the beach today here at Gili Asahan Island (near Bali, Indonesia). We got to talking about languages and we asked one man how he learned to speak such great English. His was a common answer – YouTube.

We told him about Click-n-Learn and showed him the app in action. He was excited and he asked us how he could get it. We showed him and he downloaded it then and there. I hope it makes his English learning faster and easier.

Pick-n-Learn. The green boxes are correct answers. Sama-sama (you’re welcome) is the current question word.

Click-n-Learn has two learning modes: Pick-n-Learn and Type-n-Learn. Pick-n-Learn is multiple choice, while Type-n-Learn challenges you to spell the answers. They combine to really enhance the speed and ease of building a vocabulary in any of the six languages currently available: English, French, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish and German.

While the app is free, there’s a pronunciation function available for a small subscription fee. Hearing and seeing the words really supercharges learning.

Type-n-Learn.

Typing in the answer word caps off the learning process. And don’t worry if you can’t get it correct right off the bat. There are hints available at any time.

A couple of days ago we decided to add boating words to the word sets. How do you say anchor in German? How about starboard in French? Currently there are 236 words in the boating sets and 500 words in the general vocabulary sets.

We’d really love to get your feedback on the app. We think we found a very easy way to teach and learn new words. You can get it here:
